Munchi Bar — Party Snack Bar Planning | munchibar.com
A quantity table by party size and duration with per-guest weights for sweet, salty and fresh items.
Party planning guides commonly suggest about 150-250 g of snacks per guest for a party of 2-3 hours. Treat that as a band, not a fixed ration: a 2-hour gathering sits near the bottom, a full 3-hour party near the top.
Split the per-guest weight across three groups. Sweet items — candy, chocolate, chews — take roughly a third. Salty items — crisps, popcorn, pretzel sticks — take a third to slightly more, because they are the lightest way to fill a table. Fresh items — cut fruit, vegetable sticks — take the remainder and are usually consumed fastest in the first hour.
Popcorn deserves special attention for large groups: one air-popped cup weighs about 8 g and carries roughly 31 kilocalories. A large bowl of popcorn covers a big share of the salty allocation without dominating the budget or the table space.
On narrow screens, swipe or scroll the plate sideways.
Multiply the per-guest figure by headcount, then add 10-15% for refills. Twenty guests at 200 g each need about 4 kg; prepare roughly 4.6 kg so the first refill does not require an emergency trip to the kitchen.
Adjust the split by audience. A children's party shifts weight toward sweet items; a standing reception with a full dinner later stays at the low end of the band; a 3-hour party where the snack table is the main food goes to the top.
Weigh the total before shopping and buy by weight rather than by package count. Package sizes vary between brands and between shops; grams do not.
